The Auto-Rating feature in SPARS ERP automates the calculation of shipping rates directly within the Sales Order and Bill of Lading interfaces, streamlining the order fulfillment and shipment documentation processes. By integrating real-time freight rate retrieval and calculation, this feature ensures accurate, consistent, and efficient shipping cost management without manual intervention.

Automatic Freight Rate Calculation: Automatically obtains and applies shipping rates based on selected shipping methods (Ship Via) and shipment details, eliminating the need for manual rate entry. Integration with Sales Order and Bill of Lading Interfaces: Seamlessly embedded within the Sales Order and Bill of Lading screens, allowing users to view and confirm shipping charges as part of the order processing and shipment documentation workflows. Real-Time Rate Retrieval via Carrier APIs: Connects with carrier systems (such as FedEx, UPS, and others) through APIs to fetch current freight rates based on shipment weight, dimensions, destination, and shipping method.

Dynamic Rate Updates: Enables users to refresh or update shipping rates at any point before finalizing the order or shipment, ensuring the most accurate and up-to-date freight charges are applied. Manual Override Capability: While rates are auto-calculated, users retain the ability to manually adjust shipping charges if necessary, providing flexibility to accommodate special pricing agreements or exceptions. Accurate Cost Allocation: Shipping charges calculated by Auto-Rating are automatically allocated to related documents such as packing slips and invoices, ensuring financial and operational consistency.
